Chemical Peels

Patients undergo chemical peels to treat acne scars, sun-damaged skin, crow’s feet, sagging skin, and wrinkles. This skin-rejuvenating technique improves the appearance of facial, neck or hand skin with the application of a chemical solution that exfoliates skin to promote the emergence of new, regenerated skin underneath. A superficial chemical peel treats mild skin discoloration and rough skin, while medium and deep peels address age spots, fine to medium lines, freckles, moderate skin discoloration, and shallow scars.

A superficial (“lunchtime”) peel involves using alpha-hydroxy acid or another mild acid to penetrate only the outer layer of skin to gently exfoliate it.  A medium peel utilizes glycolic or trichloroacetic acid to penetrate the outer and middle layers of skin to remove damaged skin cells, while deep peels use trichloroacetic acid or phenol to deeply penetrate the middle layer of skin to remove damaged skin cells. A careful dermatological evaluation precedes treatment.

As we age, it’s natural to develop wrinkles, unwanted sunspots, acne, spider veins, and freckles. Our dermatologists can help restore your skin so that you can feel more confident. Please call ADORA DAY SPA at 773-8520 for a consultation and visit us on the web at adoradayspa.com to learn more about the services we offer.
